#HAPPY #BRUNCH FACTS
The term brunch was coined in Britain in 1895 and is a portmanteau of breakfast and lunch.
Brunch was first used to describe a Sunday meal for ‘Saturday-night carousers’ in the Hunter’s Weekly. The suggestion was that ‘early Sunday dinner’ should be replaced by brunch, thus eliminating the need to get up early.
- Brunch really took off in the USA in the 1930s and was particularly popular on Mother’s Day.
